Joshua is still doing very well, just getting a little stir crazy. Shortly before bed we were looking out the window into the courtyard and Joshua said "Where's the road? Where's our car? We have to get our car and road!". I agree!
Anyway here's a little explanation about the lab values. I've been told to expect the values to trend downward and then they will slowly come back up as Joshua recovers. The white blood cells should be first (in the next week), followed by red cells and lastly the platelets. I'm posting the values here as a way to keep track of his progress, since it's those values that got us here! We were lucky that Joshua was already being monitored by a doctor for his liver problems....he's never been ill, looks and acts great, so we NEVER would have guessed that he had something so serious going on!
Tomorrow, I'll ask what the normal values will be so we will know what to look for.
***UPDATE***
Here's the run down:
White Blood Cells (WBC): 8.0 - 12.0
Hemoglobin (HGB): 10-12
Hematocrit (HCT): 35-45
Platelet (PLT): 220
Today's lab values
WBC: 0.1 / HGB: 9.8 / HCT: 27 / PLT: 53
