Day +19

Joshua is getting better every day! Today, he was finally able to leave his room for a bath in the tub (the rooms only have showers) and he had a great time! Since he got to see the hall during our quick dash to the tub room, he decided that he would wear the mask so he could run around out there.

In other news, our transplant doctor has scheduled Joshua's release for Wednesday! I'm trying not to get too excited, just in case it doesn't happen. But, we have to get our house ready as if it will. We found out TODAY that we need to have our carpets cleaned (let dry for a day or two), plants removed, walls washed, everything dusted....basically every surface needs to be scrubbed! Todd's getting it done tomorrow and we were lucky enough to get a carpet cleaning company scheduled for Monday. We also found out that Joshua (and the rest of us) are going to have a lot of restrictions until about Day +100. Joshua can not play in the dirt, be in the sun, go swimming because of his central line, have the windows open in our house, or go into public where there are crowds (shopping, zoo, museum, etc). So, this is going to be a horrible summer!!!

Today's lab values
WBC: 0.8 / ANC: 300 / HGB: 10.4 / HCT: 29.6 / PLT: 18
*they decided not to give him platelets today because he had some "baby cells" and they want to see what he can do on his own
