It was the most intense heat wave ever experienced in Western Washington, with erasers busy attacking several records.

Old Record: 69, set on the night before and on 9/2/74.

-Warmest 7-Day Stretch In Seattle: 92.7 degrees, July 25-31. (Highs of 86, 89, 94, 97, 103, 96, 84). Old record: 92.3 degrees, Aug 6-12, 1981.

-Daily Record High (Tied) July 28: 97 degrees (last set 1988)

-Daily Record High July 29: 103 degrees (old record 95, 1971)

-Daily Record High July 30: 96 degrees (old record 94, 1960)
